Workshop on Menstrual Health Management

The Veni Rao Foundation organized Menstrual Health Management Workshops in collaboration with SheCup from 15th – 17th November 2018. The speakers for the workshop were Mr. Ashish Malani and Mr. Manish Malani, Founders of the social enterprise SheCup, Mumbai. The target audience included the female students of Grades VI-XII from CHIREC, students of Grades VI-X of the neighboring government schools, and CHIREC ayahs and conductors. Around 1200 participants benefited from the workshop.

The objective of the programme was to encourage good and eco-friendly menstrual hygiene by providing health education to girls and women. The sessions focused on menstruation and menstrual hygiene, and promoting the availability and use of safe and environment friendly sanitary products like menstrual cups to tackle menstruation. The speakers taught the participants how to use the menstrual cups and the advantage of using these over conventional products in terms of economics as well as safety of the users.
